This voluptuous yak would have functioned as a handle of sorts, carved as part of the lid or stopper of some sort of large vessel, quite likely holding yak milk--which she seems quite full of. Now, the round of the lid makes a perfect pedestal for the carving, which I know from the person I purchased it from is Nepalese, likely early 20th century. With a great silhouette, smoothly worn surface, and super warm presence.
3 1/2" tall x 3 3/8" l x 3 1/8" w and in very good condition.
