I don't really know the age or origins of this, but surely it has more than a 100 years on it, and it's quite a lovely thing. It is weighted inside (one can feel the weight turn when you flip it over) so works both as a paper weight and pen holder. The exterior shows a beautiful play of wood grain, with inlay at the centers of the sides; it has a similar feeling to lignum vitae but may be some other exotic (I've just ordered a guide to woods so I can become better at identifying!) Perfect on the desk to give pens or pencils a home.
3 9/16 x 2 x 1 15/16” t. Gorgeous surface, with just a little wear to the wood at a couple of the corners.
