I'm a bit obsessed with this one, with the woman here looking to me a whole lot like Cindy Sherman dressed up and posing for an early "Film Still," and then another degree of post-modern remove, with this a glossy print of that photo placed against a black ground and re-photographed. In actuality, the portrait is of actress Gloria Grahame, and this (I know for the seller) a screen test shot for the 1959 noir style film "Odds Against Tomorrow." (The perfect title for an image that seems both nostalgic and foreshadowing, and all about framing and re-framing.) With this 8x10 print stamped on reverse by Graphics Arts Photo Service, NYC, 1959.
9 7/8" x 8". Very good condition, reads very crisp, with the ground a rich glossy pure black black.
