Hair Wreaths and Ruffles Everywhere, Very Finely Painted C. 1850s Watercolor on Card

Regular price $50.00

Maybe not exactly my typical style, but this (and a second by the same maker listed separately) is amazing--hard to understand scale from photos, but it took me getting out a magnifier to confirm this as a watercolor rather than a print, it is so finely and precisely executed. Perhaps there were once four of them, representing the four seasons--these two, flowers in their hair and everywhere, clearly visions of spring. Mid 19th century, I am guessing English but possibly French, watercolor painted on card.

5 3/8" x 4". Excellent condition, bright and crisp, with slightly trimmed corners.
