Iron Bead Eyes, Open Mouth, Wonderfully Expressive c. Late 1800s Carved Wooden Doll

I know the dealer from whom I purchased this carved figure found it in far upstate New York, but I don't know more than that for certain though, though it feels likely Native American to me, later 19th century I would presume. Carved of soft wood with pronounced wood grain, though more pronounced in my photos than in hand. For me of course it is so much about this full of life face, with inset iron beads for eyes, stained brows, raised nose, and this wonderfully expressive mouth, partially open and a bit crooked, speaking across time. 

10 1/2" t x 2" w x 1 3/8" d. Beautiful antique condition, warm dry patina to the surface of the wood.
