Yellow Stripes on Best Blue, Darling 19th Century American Primitive Foot Stool

My quest for excellent old foot stools never ends--the only scale of furniture I can handle, but happily my favorite form, and of course ever useful, including as pedestals for other things. I found this antique  lovely in Lancaster County, PA to my great delight--perfect scale, best old blue paint, and great boxy lines, which the yellow paint wonderfully amplifies and enhances. Mortise and tenon construction, with four yellow X's painted at the top of the legs where they meet the flat of the stool. Terrific.

12" x 6 7/8" x 7 1/4". Well loved, very sturdy and sound, terrific color, honest wear to flat surface of top.
