Woman with Feather, Striking C. 1920s Finely Woven Southwestern Native Wool Tapestry

Regular price $250.00

A number of things today for which I paid close to what I'm asking, but which I had to honor by bringing home--and I just fell in love with this very striking and proud looking woven woman, red, white and soft green feather tethered around her long black hair. Finely woven of hand-dyed wool, c. 1920s, created by an indigenous weaver from the Southwest I believe, for the tourist market.

18" x 18 1/4" not including applied fringe. Overall very good condition, finely and very tightly woven, with a few small losses and a few light stains, as detailed. Color strong, with an elegance and richness to the palette, and I love the shift in the black of her hair half way along.
