Obviously there's been a repair to the tail on this bird, and a bit of loss to the edge of one wing too, but you know I have a weakness for wounded animals, and I find this old carved bird in its old creamy white paint so beautiful, there was no way I could resist. The wire hanger is original to it and runs all the way through the body, and I believe the black eyes are glass. Definitely an old one, 19th c. American I believe, found in New Hampshire.
6 3/8" l x 3 3/4" w x 5 3/4" from underside to top of wire (where it bends.) Old repair at the tail as evident and documented, and loss to the far edge of left wing. Stable and not fragile now, with beautiful age to the white paint.
