Wonderfully Wonky Old Handmade Miniature Wooden Chairs, A Pair

Regular price $40.00

These might just be my favorite miniature wooden chairs I’ve ever found, super folky, super wonky, and which seem to reflect two distinct personalties, as if anticipating two specific people (or dolls) who might sit in them. The back rest of the one at left in first photo slants back a bit as if the more relaxed of the two, while the back of the right one would force one to sit up very straight. The length of the long legs is all over the place too, adding the their very particular postures!  Painted a sort of gold with varnish over top I believe, with some dark red paint, too, and a kind of ochre on the back, which has chipped some. These have definitely got a lot of of years on them and to my eye are just terrific.

Sold as a pair. Left: 4 1/2" t x 2 3/8" w x 2 1/2" d. Right: 4 7/8" t x 2" w x 2 1/2" d. One of the the legs on the taller chair is a little loose and will come of out its hole, but is easily stuck right back in. They sit steady and relatively straight.
