Though the little carved bone double sided pin cushion is likely early Victorian era British, I thought it made a nice complement to this lovely group of Native American basketry pieces (Maine Penobscot I believe, probably 1920s-40s), that I'm listing them all together (and at a bargain price!) The small basket is a thimble holder, the middle obviously a pin cushion, and the right a scissors holder. The basketry on all is finely done with sweet grass and ash splint. Really lovely.
There are a couple of chips to the bone on the Victorian pin cushion and it is likely there was once a lid to the thimble holder. Otherwise, very good condition and with many years of use in the them yet, though also a nice little readymade collection! Basketry pin cushion measures 1 3/8" across; Victorian 1" long; scissors holder 3 1/4" long; thimble holder 1 1/8" tall.
