The microphone glowing like a halo in front of this young man dates the photo to the late 1920s or early 30s I believe--and what a wonderful sphere of focus at the center of an image that is otherwise all about straight lines! One wonders what this handsome young man was reading to his radio listeners--I'd like to imagine maybe some Faulkner, or perhaps Brave New World! To my eye really a wonderful photograph, with doors upon doors receding behind him, and all the vertical lines, from door frames to paneling to the pleats of that curtain, making the horizontally oriented photo feel almost panoramic. Great.
