Wonderful Old Scratch Made Folk Art Tin House Still Bank

Regular price $135.00

I’ll never resist an old piece of tabletop architecture built from scratch if I can help it, and I think this is a great and quite singular one, which a slit in roof made a large still bank, though there seems no way to retrieve whatever loot would be dropped inside. (The front door looks as if it might open, but it doesn’t.) Painted a sort of putty brown with a painted paned window on one side, and then given a coating of silvery white sprinkles to make it look as if dotted with snowflakes on the roof and front steps. To my eye completely charming, perfectly wonky, and an old one, early 20th c. I would guess.

7 1/2” t x 5 1/4” w x 6 7/8” d  and in good, structurally sound, sturdy, and completely stable condition, with great patina and many times better in person.
