One of my favorite dolls I've found--between her soulful embroidered face, hand-stitched patchwork dress, fabric-wrapped legs (those legs made of cornhusk I believe) and floppy bow stitched to one side of her head plus a pink one at her neck, what a lot of love and soul was invested in her, and how singularly beautiful I think she is. Cornhusk dolls have a very long tradition in Native American cultures of the Northeast; I don't believe that's what she is, but the manner of fabric wrapping on her legs, especially, is similar. Early 20th century I believe, showing stains and general wear, all to the good I think. One wants to be a bit gentle with her but she's stable and sound, not shedding anywhere and not very fragile. Fabric head and body, well stuffed with either straw or perhaps more shredded cornhusk.
14 1/2" t. 4" across at shoulders and stable, sound, much loved condition.
