This blocks set makes me so happy, just dripping with handmade love, and so satisfying in that they all stack up, layer upon layer to fit just exactly so in their custom crate, with not an inch to spare. The lid fits onto the pegs around the lip of the box--constructed of old wooden fruit crates--to lock into place, flush and snug. Perfect. And then the blocks themselves are to my eye just gorgeous, most plain but enough painted creamy white on one side to provide the perfect complement, and a few with blue text, perhaps made from other crates. Most measure 3 inches long, but there are a a good bunch half as long and few twice as long, altogether making for a great mixed set. And there are so many, of such a nice scale and weight, that to spread them all out on the floor is to feel quite luxuriously equipped for building lots of things! If I had a young child or grandchild, I would give them these and believe I had just given them the best gift ever!
Crate measures 10 5/8" x 10 5/8" x 6 1/2" t. Medium blocks measure 3" x 1 1/2" x 3/4". All together weight is 9 1/2 pounds. In great, beautifully aged condition, very clean and dry. Included in photos is sequential documentation of all blocks (photos numbered 1-6).
