I'm completely taken by these, which to me possess the same sort of charm as old school girl drawings and watercolors of the very same! The quilt they were made for was definitely completed (done on what I believe is black silk, these are backed in a green printed fabric, with a thin layer of batting between front and back) and many years later someone cared enough to salvage the squares, which I purchased from a seller in New York. I think they would be be great framed, or--super soft and very tactile-- maybe even better sewn onto the back of coat, say, like a floral shield! Really lovely, and one can very much feel the care invested in making them (and, in one case mending--with a couple of black patches added to one, which warmly enhance it.)
Sizes vary a bit and each is a little irregular, but they range from 12 1/2" to 13" square. All are in good shape. Fabric is very soft, and the black especially has softened/faded beautifully.
SOLD INDIVIDUALLY. Scroll through photos to see each one with corresponding letter at upper left. Please add one or more to your cart and indicate letter or letters of squares you want in the notes field at checkout.
