She's great, forever staring into her little mirror, and with a little heart hanging from her neck, but especially great are the dog and cat drawn on the train of her skirt! What a wonderfully curious face on the spotted dog, who has come face to face with cat, its back arched high like a Halloween scare cat. That little drama seemingly unknown to our woman, who is seemingly preoccupied with her own reflection. All together a nice little mediation on the direction of the gaze, and just a charming thing.
10" t x 7 1/8" w x 1/2" d. It will stand up on its own. Wood with graphite drawn details. Surface aging, staining, and surely some fading to the drawing as evident. A small loss to the end of the train of her skirt and a couple of small surface losses to the top edge of the skirt just left of the end of it--as documented.
