I found this one at an antiques show in Maine to my great delight--a love token and a pin cushion and miniature wheel barrow rolled in one! Constructed of cigar box wood, painted gold around the perimeter, wire, and just right blue velvet for the pin cushion, with wonderfully carved arrow-pierced-heart at center, and WIFE spelled out in pins--what could be better? Ah, a handwritten dedication, to EMR from MHR 1912, on the underside, too! One imagines a gift from a farmer husband to a wife who was no stranger to back breaking work. Love.
8” l x 4” t x 3 3/8” w and in very good antique condition, with the only damage/loss being the loss of rim of the wheel (i found it with the rim on it, with a split it, such that it did not stay on; i forgot to photograph it, but will include it, as it could surely be repaired. As is, the wheelbarrow stands perfectly straight and sturdy and balanced on the hub/spokes as shown.
