So fun finding this and a second fan drawing of Paul McCartney, c. 1970s I believe, together at an antiques show in NH this week. A note and address jotted on the back of the other makes me think they were submitted in response to a contest run by WBY radio station in Boston. I might guess this one was the winner--a perfectly moody, turtle-necked Paul with shadow covering half his face, and best of all hand-typed "BEATLE BEATLE BEATLE..." running below, with the slightly irregular spacing and right justification lending a sense of syncopation to the words themselves (as if Ringo Starr were being implied!) Just right, very Paul!
11 7/8" x 8 7/8". Wear to the paper with a little tearing/folding as evident, mostly along bottom edge, which seems all of a piece with it.
