A very lovely example of a Victorian --second half 19th century--seashell box in very good condition, with papered sides painted to look like tortoiseshell, pin cushion top, and shell framed color print on the front bearing the message "Forget Me Not." Not a missing shell that I can see, and while a bit delicate, the paper hinge of the lid is still well attached, opening to reveal a clean, pink papered interior. In the form of a miniature chest with cabriole legs.
5” w x 3 1/2 d x 4 3/8” t. and in very good condition, with notable wear only to the fabric of the pin cushion on top, but it is stable and I like the effect.
