Very Sweet Red and White Thread on Hand-woven Linen Antique Monogrammed Schoolgirl Darning Sampler

My favorite darning samples are the very fine early Dutch ones and also very folky examples like this one, which I believe is American, late 19th century or so, and quite likely extracted from a sewing sample notebook done by a girl in school. Here, you can really see, and feel, each stitch, back and forth, working very hard to build those grids! Super sweet. Red and white cotton thread on linen. 

 6 7/8" x 6 1/4" Good condition, with one small stain to the right corner of the upper left darn and one small stain to the top border, center left. Sound and sturdy and not at all fragile.
