Very Satisfying Shackman Fraction Learner Set, Complete with Spinner, 1960s

Regular price $75.00

I've had just a couple of these Shackman "Fraction Learner" sets over the years and will always scoop them up when I come across them. Definitely an excellent tool for teaching fractions as portions of a whole, with six circles divided up into differently sized slices, and a corresponding spinner to direct activity--but also just excellent aesthetically and design wise, and there is great pleasure in mixing and matching the segments comprising each whole. The segments are wood, painted on both side with a gloss finish, and are great for making free form designs, too. Perfectly housed along with the spinner (the post of which slides out) in slide top wooden box with paper label. Among my favorite examples of vintage educational material design.

Overall 9 1/4" x 7 1/2" x 7/8". C. 1960s. Very good condition, reads bright and crisp. General wear and a little loss to the paper on the face of the spinner, as shown.
