I can never keep old sets of Color Cubes in the shop for long, so I scoop them up whenever I find them--and part of the beauty of these is that the more one has, the more design possibilities there are! This is an early set, 1930s or I believe, with 25 cubes, made by The Embossing Company in Albany New York.
There is little chipping, almost exclusively to the blue paint (documented in one photo) but very little paint loss around the edges and overall bright and crisp. The box is battered and taped, as is almost always the case with these--attesting to their much played with history. On the underside of the lid are sample designs. Box measures 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" x 1 1/8"t. Cubes measure 1 1/16" cubed.
