I found this one in an antique store a bit north of Albany, NY and fell in love with its formal execution and the Hopper-esque sense of urban solitude and longing it evokes; the quiet drama of internal deliberations amplified by the emptiness of city streets. I have not taken it out the frame to see if it is signed, but clearly it dates to the 1940s or so (as the old framer's sticker confirms) and perhaps our man in overalls is wandering the streets of downtown Manhattan, with a Water Street street sign marking the corner.
Framed as found (professionally framed c. 1940s): 22 1/4" x 15 3/4". Sight" 19 1/2" x 13 1/4". All in very good condition, no issues at all.
