Really a lovely, little bottle, with intricate, art nouveau-style sterling overlay, different on both sides (as shown). Handmade in Taxco, Mexico (famed for its silver jewelry production), it would be pretty on the vanity or dresser, but also great for carrying a small dose of a favorite scent while traveling or just running around.
While I have found later versions with a very similar design, the JJC mark on the bottom, from what I understand, dates it to prior to 1940 and corresponds to a specific master silversmith. Surrounding the JJC is "Taxco 925 / Hecho En Mexico" and there is a second mark with a "3" in the center.
Very good condition, and a wonderful gift. The glass has a nice weight to it, the cap closes tightly, and the silver is in good shape; I found it very tarnished but it polished right up, and should shine up even a little more (I know I missed a few spots!) 2" tall x 1 1/8" wide x 1/2" deep.
