Both Humble and Grand Old Three Tiered Cigar Box Building with Nail and String Terrace Rail

Regular price $70.00

Humble materials but grand ambitions, put to work constructing what I take for a state house or other sort of public building of some significance. Cigar box wood, string, and nails, plus a gold painted finial nailed to the top. The green painted roof (roofs) show a good bit of aging and soiling; I did some gentle wiping and dusting (including behind those string rails) but they are as they are, probably stored in a basement or barn somewhere for some years.)  With equal attention given to the archicture, and to painting each and every window and door, all the way around. Charming.

7 7/8" w x 4 7/8" d x 7 1/8" t. CC. 1930s-40s I believe. Structurally sound and stable. Surface aging/soiling as evident, particularly to the roof, and a coupel of breaks in the string of the rail.
