Sweet Antique Pair of Carved and Painted Axes

Purchased from a dealer from Michigan at the New Hampshire Antiques Show who always has terrific things, I just though these were charming--and excellent vehicles for delivering great old paint. Late 19th century I believe, carved of wood, with the remnants of a couple of Victorian die-cuts on one side of each. Nice mounted above the front door, say, for protection!

Each about 9" long x 3 1/8 to 3 1/4" wide, very good condition, great original painted surfaces. Sold as a pair.
