Much better in person, my photos do no justice--a sweet c. late 19th c. folk art painting, oil on board, found in Maine, and of it, I believe. I love the small tower, pretty much exactly centered at the peak of the hill (and looking rather lonely there), and especially the three tiny figures standing at the fence and looking out toward it (lookers looking at the outlook). The yellow flowers (see detail photos) in the hand of the girl or woman in the middle feels especially right, as the flip side of the painting is an uncompleted still life of flowers in a vase--perhaps picked the very same day.
6 1/8 x 8 3/8 and in good, uncleaned condition, a bit lighter around the far edges from where it surely previously lived in a frame.
