This face! So gentle, and sensitive, and inquisitive looking, I just fell in love with him, and also want to channel his spirit! Terrific long, thin arms too, made for swinging. As with many today, photos don't do justice to him--there is a softness to the the color of the wood that suits his character perfectly, but here appears a bit harder and more greenish. Anyway. The face was detailed using pyrography, and he is dated the same way on his back, 1912. Made as a jig doll, with a hole in his back for inserting a dowel--and clogs on his feet for making some noise!
