So pretty. Of course I'm always looking for full scale quilts constructed using paper piecing--and of course it is always all about the paper side for me--but nice to find just a fragment, the scale of a small drawing, easy to pop in a frame. The paper here was used as templates, for wrapping the fabric around and basting in place; ultimately it would have been concealed entirely had the quilt been completed.
6 1/2" widest across. C. 1870s-80s I believe. Very good condition, clean and crisp feeling, not at all fragile. One stain visible on the blue fabric on the fabric covered side as shown.
