I really love the boldness and crispness and elegance of this watercolor, which I believe is of a magnolia, and which I would describe as theorem style due to the clear use of stencils. Based on the lot I found it in, and on the paper--which is heavy, possibly cut from a scrapbook, and shows age toning--I believe it likely early 20th century. Really striking, with terrific color.
8 1/2" x 6". There is a small tear coming in from the right edge, which does not go as far as the painting itself.
