I recently found another postcard featuring a baby holding a bottle of spilled ink, which led me to learn that images of babies spilling ink seem to be a bit of a thing in the early years of the 20th century...but this postcard takes it to a whole different level!! It's pretty weird, and one wonders a bit about the fate of this baby...but I totally love it. I believe it is printed rather than hand-drawn, though the pale pink of the baby's face I think may be hand-colored, and it is on a matte wove type stock. French, and titled "Une Page Moulee" (moulee technically meaning molded, but I think basically translating to mean a page cast) along the bottom, and signed EP in lower right. The back is unused.
Very good condition, with a small bump on the top edge near the center and some dark marks on the reverse. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".
