The more I look, the more I've become certain that I'm not going to tire of old stone fruit any time soon, and I've become quite a keen inspector of pieces, looking (in person) at many dozens of specimens to pick out a few choice fruits! (There is a big difference between carefully carved and hand-painted old ones and less subtle newer examples where you can see color was sprayed on.) So here are two just found in Maine that more than pass muster--a pear with some very nice bruising, and a fantastically colored plum not yet quite right. It is easy to believe that people used to put these out for guests to see if they'd try to bite into them!
Both are actual fruit size. Pear measures 3 5/8" T X 2 3/4" w. Plum measures 2 1/2" t x 2 1/2" w. SOLD INDIVIDUALLY--price is per piece. Please indicate at checkout which you would like, or add 2 to your cart for both. Both are in excellent condition.
