Soulful Child in Cat Costume!

This one makes me want to both laugh and cry every time I look at it, and feels to me as if it ought to inspire a novel or a play or at least a poem about childhood and fantasy and confronting the existential void! The texture of the wall upon which this cat costumed child rests their hand so contemplatively to my eye is especially right, as is the flop of the left ear and the white bow at the end of the tail. Kind of amazing.

The photograph, which I believe is vintage and printed on a grainy matte photo paper,  was mounted to a tan colored cardstock backing. Photo measures 6 1/2" x 4 9/16". As mounted: 7 x 4 7/8". Very good condition.
