Solitary Unicorn and Floating Cross, Old Much Marked and Scrubbed Wooden School Desk Surface

It's the unicorn carved into the surface of this old school desk top that really won me--maybe drawn as a horse and acquiring a single horn along the way! And it and feels like a persistent and resilient presence--refusing to be erased, even as the rest of the surface looks to have been scrubbed down hard again and again.  Some enduring loves (S.L + L.R., etc. too) and this cross--or plus sign--that feels like the unicorn's personal guiding star! I think school desk tops like this would be a good thing to collect and fill a whole wall with--each a layering of marks and moments, worlds unto themselves.

23 3/4 x 15 3/4 and in sound and sturdy condition, nice color and rich surface, wired on the back for hanging.
