It seems beautiful glass microscope slides are finding me lately --and these antique French ones with handwritten specimen descriptions on lithographed paper labels I think are just so lovely. Silkworm and foot of a caterpillar happily need no translation, and then there appears to be the scale of a sole (fish I assume) and mouth of a ?, and something human! (perhaps your deciphering skills will be better than mine!) All of the specimens are visible with the naked eye, and most look like tiny insects to me--which makes the juxtaposition with the beautiful presentation of them all the better.
Slides measure 2 5/16" x 3/4" ea and all are in very good condition. Sold as a set of 8.
