School Girl Graphite Drawing of Girl and Doll, 19th C.

Regular price $125.00

There is something so heartening to me about strongly identifying with the subjects of drawings and paintings and objects made many years ago--as much as things have changed, we're still human! This girl, pushing her baby doll along side her, reminds me so much of myself dressing up and pretending to be a lady when I was a girl that she makes me laugh, especially with head cocked and one finger raised as if about to issue a command. Plus this wonderfully specific depiction of the doll in three wheeled stroller--clearly the prized doll. School girl drawings like this give me no end of joy.

Framed, as found, with wood backing and wired for hanging.  6 5/8" x 5 7/8". Sight: 4 5/8" x 3 3/4". All in very good condition.
