A very winning old folk art painting of apples-- simple but just right, and clearly filled with admiration for these most iconic of fruits--one can just feel the painter arranging them under perfect cloud streaked blue sky to give them their full due. The fact that the back of the painting notes not the name of the artist but, rather, the variety of apple, makes me think the painter likely grew and plucked them his or herself and was quite proud of the harvest. Completely unfussy and very satisfying.
