Rare, Very Early (1920s) Campbells Tomato Soup Can!

Regular price $40.00

Just as I always keep an eye out for old Ballantine beer cans in honor of Jasper Johns, so of course I had to grab this very early -c. 1920s—Campbell’s soup can in honor of Andy Warhol—and, happily, Tomato to boot! It is deeply rusted, and the paper label a bit brittle (with a tear down the back, which I believe was helped to stay in place with a couple of dabs of glue at some point. From the front though, I think it’s just right looking—and feels both a tribute to Warhol and the exact opposite in its singularly aged--and empty!--state. i can't find another of these out there online anywhere.

4" t x 2 11/16" in diameter. Condition as documented, shedding just a bit of minor rust but overall stable and sound.
