Scribner, Nebraska, Dec. 17, 1906. "Dear Sir--I reed your letter and was very much pleased. I will ship the rooster tomorrow night. Yours truly." And then at top, "I will ship by Express." I can't quite read the signature, but the recipient seems to have been a Mr. John Ass. (?)
The photo is a bit dark, but pretty fabulous, complete with a trophy exactly at the center, above which one rooster is precisely perched--one assumes the first prize winner, flanked by two runners up!
3 1/2" x 5 1/2" and in good condition, with light wear along the bottom edge.
