I've been stalking antique prints/book pages documenting astronomical phenomenon of late, which I find super beautiful. This one portrays the phases of Venus as observed between 1833 and 1836 by astronomists Wilhelm Wolff Beer (Prussian) and Johann Heinrich Mädler (German). It is an antique book page from a volume of Zeitschrift für populäre Astronomi (Journal of Popular Astronomy) published by Lith Anst, Graz, c. 1868.
Some light staining to the paper at bottom center and along the edges, and just a tiny tear to the paper on the lower left edge, but still really a lovely thing that would be great framed. 5 5/8" wide x 8 5/8" tall. Blank on the back.
