I'll never get over the beauty of inky black painted lettering against a field of creamy white paint, and even better that it should be used to spell out BARBER SHOP in the absolute most no-fuss (and to my eye absolutely perfect) manner possible. The sign was executed on masonite, smooth on its face; perhaps once with a border that resulted in the hard edge to the white pained surface (?), or perhaps the perimeter was simply taped off. Better in person; completely pure in its satisfyingness.
20 1/8" x 12" and in very good condition, solid and stable, with a bit of minor loss around the edges. I would guess 1930s or so.
