This grinning frog is an example of a sewer tile / end of day pottery piece made using a mold, and was likely made by a factory worker to bring home as a gift, perhaps for a mother who liked to garden! I've seen other examples of end of day frogs, but much less common to see one painted a nice thick coat of green, and this one is signed on the bottom, in big proud capital letters: Roy Myers 1945.
7" l x 5" w x 3" t. Loss to one back foot, and a repaired front one, as detailed, which says to me he should be retired from any sort of work (as a door stop etc.) and just granted a nice sunny spot to rest.
