I'll never tire of stark, very sharp focus antique tintypes like this one, which put all attention back on the subject--making them feel intensely close and present, right there. One has a sense here that every wrinkle on this man's face tells a story, and every hole in his sweater too. And the curious position of his hand as it holds this brim of his hat adds another layer, making that hat seem like the key to unlocking him.
3 5/16" x 2 7/16". A bit unevenly cut (which is a bit exaggerated in photos), very good antique condition.
