The smoothed bottom of this old masher shows that it was much used, and no wonder, as the interestingly carved handle, reminding me of a whimsy, provides a great grip! Another example of a utilitarian object that someone took care to make just to their liking, nice now as a sculptural one, though it could certainly be put to use again.
9 3/16" t x 1 7/8" in diameter at widest. There is one small chip to the handle as pictured, very minor, and some roughness to the wood on the sides.
