I've been thinking lately about the potential eroticism of landscapes, and then this one came along, about as suggestive (to my eye at least) as a landscape painting might get! Relatedly, it immediately made me think of Duchamp's last work, Étant donnés, which I now find impossible not to hold in mind as I look at this one and which makes this landscape feel anything but naive.
Oil on board, 11 7/8" x 8", with some crackling to the paint and a ding to the board along the left edge. I found it in a simple wooden frame which is nothing special but I am happy to include it if you'd like. Frame measures 12 7/8" x 8 7/8". Unsigned.
