Old Naive Drawing of Native American Warrior with Bow and Arrow

Regular price $28.00

This one I found along with the three soldiers in a row I just listed, and if this Native American warrior were facing the opposite direction I'd think they were about to face off. I'm glad for that not be the case--for the arrow here instead to remain forever ready but never fired, with its diagonal beautifully echoed by the feathers of his hat and counterpointed by the opposite diagonal of his quiver. Surely done by a young boy long ago, and I think just great.

5 3/4" x 4 1/4", graphite and crayon on laid paper. Age toning from a prior mat, some smudges, and several creases: diagonal at left and vertical at right.
