Old 2+ Lb. Weight with Satisfying Shape and Surface

I would guess, having a handle of sorts, that this was a weight for some sort of industrial scale, but I’m not certain. As per my postal scale, it weighs 2 lbs. 4 oz or so. I love it for its satisfying form, and for its black surface that also shows some traces of red on the handle where it was clearly much grabbed, and for the flat, unpainted bottom that looks sliced with an industrial saw rather than cast. Useful for holding down large piles of papers or drawings or whatever and just quite a good object I think.
