Oil on Canvas Landscape with Sliced Apples, Signed Burns

Regular price $110.00

It's the big red sliced apple in the foreground that really drew me to this painting, very much larger than life amid this impressionistic landscape, which dissolves into a sort of earlyish Kandisky-esque abstraction in the foreground. A bit of a curious one, setting a bit of an uncertain mood, signed Burns on the left side at the horizon line, and which I'd guess dates to the 1920s or so.

In what I believe is its original gold painted frame, which measures 18 1/4" x 14 7/8". Painting itself 14 1/16" x 11 1/6". The painting shows a little damage: there is one largish chip to the white where it meets the green of the grass; another small chip to the top of the yellow apple; and a bit of loss along the edges - all as documented.
