I can't resist a perfect orange glaze, or a pitcher with a great form and weight, so here's this beauty. Hand-thrown, it was made in the 1960s by Danish potters Signe Boesen and John Northroup, who were married, with their pressed mark just below the handle, and "Denmark" pressed along the bottom edge. The interior is glazed a painterly olive green, which makes the orange pop all the more. Striking, cheerful, modern and earthy all rolled into one; very nice.
6 3/4" t x 7" across at handle, 4 1/2" across the other way. Very good condition, without a chip or flaw that I can see.
