I've got a special weakness for earthy chunky mid-century pottery pieces like this lidded jar, which I might call brutalist, but with a lot of warmth and presence of hand. Nicely irregular hand-built form; a circle of dark green, nearly black color adding interest to the lid; and the happy surprise of a Shino glaze to the interior. Satisfyingly sculptural, and useful for stashing all sort of things.
5 1/2" t x 3 7/8" d and in very good condition, no chips, cracks or other issues. Signed Ulli and dated '68 on the underside.
